CMRI 2.0: Building Repositioning and Adaptive Reuse

Learn more about the challenges facing the Arlington County commercial office sector and the potential policy, land use ordinance and administrative regulations changes the County is studying to address this critical issue of commercial office market weakness and the impact on Arlington’s fiscal balance. Specifically, the presentation shall focus on a future path for accommodating applications to Reposition or Adaptively Reuse obsolete office buildings. This future path shall consider a more efficient process for maximizing private investments in the existing but obsolete office buildings, thus benefiting the County’s fiscal base and placemaking goals.

This session is a first step in the community discussion that will ultimately lead to the consideration of policy and ordinance changes related to Building Repositioning and Adaptive Reuse by the Arlington County Board later this Fall. This Lunch and Learn will include a presentation by Arlington County staff and time for moderated questions and answers from attendees; the event will be recorded and posted.

Stay tuned. A follow-up presentation, on Building Repositioning and Adaptive Reuse will be held in early September.
